The exhibit is free and open to the public 24/7, March 2, 2012 through May 17, 2012. Exhibition Curated by Kerry Kolenut

Beatrice M. Mady is based in Jersey City, NJ. Born in New York City, she received her M.F.A. in painting from Pratt Institute and a B.F.A. from the University of Dayton. She has had numerous one person and group exhibitions. She was a recipient of the Ford Foundation Grant, New Jersey State Council on the Arts Grant and five Kenny Grants. Mady is an Associate Professor and the Graphic Arts Coordinator at Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City, New Jersey.
The work in this exhibition includes pieces from several different series: Japan, Egypt, Peru, and India. Using new patterns, colors, symbols, light, and ideas inspired by her travels and events from her life, the essence or core of Mady’s paintings and prints evolves from a dialogue between the drawn form and color. There is a spiritual state in the work, which dualistic elements, such as vertical-horizontal, dark-light, warm-cool and positive-negative can play out their parts. Although these forces are seemingly contradictory, as in the symbol of the yin/yang, they function in a complementary fashion to create a union of opposites that harmonize in perfect equilibrium.
