LIAM DAVIS is an independent curator living in Brooklyn, New York. Since 2012 he has been the curator at Artifact, a project space on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. At Artifact, he curated Sarah Walker, Drift, 2013, Close Quarters, 2013, Jenna Ransom, Lazy Eyes, 2014, Lucas Moran, Re Verse, 2014, and Timothy Atticus, ChromoChrome, 2016. From 2011–2012 he held the position of Curator and Media Director at The Muse Center of Photography and the Moving Image, and from 2011–2014 he organized an annual exhibition of prints by Brooklyn-based artists in conjunction with Bushwick Open Studios (BOS). Davis has taught at the Parsons School of Design and has been a visiting lecturer at Wellesley College and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Davis received a BFA from The Massachusetts College of Art and Design and an MFA from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa.
KRISTIN J. DE ANGELIS has over 25 years of art, marketing and sales experience culminating as owner, director and curator of 107 Bowers Gallery & ArtSpace, which opened in 2016. Its mission is to serve as a hub of creative endeavors, an ArtSpace that embraces the creative journey, and a place for artists to connect with one another and the community. Prior to opening 107 Bowers Gallery & ArtSpace, Kristin spent over 20 years in key strategic roles directing marketing and sales communications for well known brands. As a gallery director, Kristin works with artists, galleries, interior designers and collectors. As an art educator, Kristin works with children under 12 years of age to bring out the Young Master within them. As an art advocate, Kristin coaches pre-emerging artists to get them focused and back on track to their creativity. She is a member of the Association for Women Art Dealers and The Jersey City Arts Council.
WILSON DUGGAN is a curator, artist, and arts administrator living and working in New York. Duggan is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of SHIM Art Services, a Brooklyn-based organization that offers alternative models and resources to artists, curators, and other groups and organizations seeking assistance with their exhibition projects. Since 2013, Duggan has curated dozens of exhibitions in the NYC area, ranging from focused solo exhibitions of work by prominent contemporary New York City artists such as Denise Green, Kurt Steger, Curtis Andrews, and Christopher Stout, to wide-ranging group exhibitions that often borrow aesthetics, formats, and practices from a variety of other fields, including psychology, data science, technology, and the internet. Duggan received his B.A. in Art History from Fordham University in 2011.
ASHA GANPAT is a NYC artist born in Trinidad and Tobago of the West Indies. Ganpat has shown at institutions such as the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Exit Art, The Noyes Museum, The Queens Museum, The Jersey City Museum and the Nathan Cummings Foundation. Her work was cited as one of NYC’s top 10 art installations of 2012 by Complex Magazine. She is an alumnus of Aljira’s Emerge, Gaia’s Wonderwomen, the NJBAS, Chashama North, Trinidad’s Alice Yard residency, and recently spoke at the Asia Society. Ganpat is a professor of sculpture at Montclair State University, an independent curator, and co-founded Red Saw Gallery, Newark, NJ.
ENRICO GOMEZ is a painter and curator based in the Northern New Jersey/New York City area. He is the Director of The Dorado Project; an independent curatorial and contemporary art compendium based in Hoboken, NJ, and is a founder/partner in M E N Gallery, a contemporary art gallery located in the Two Bridges neighborhood of New York, NY. Since July 2016, he has served as the exhibitions curator for SILVERMAN’s Majestic Theatre and Hamilton Square venues. He has exhibited his work at various venues including Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, The Painting Center, Odetta Gallery, Regina Rex, Pentimenti Gallery, PROTO Gallery, The Mesa Contemporary Arts Center, P.S.122 Gallery, and The Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art. Gomez, who was named in 2014 by Brooklyn Magazine one of the “100 Most Influential People in Brooklyn Culture,” received his B.F.A. in Art with a concentration in Drawing from Arizona State University.
DONNA KESSINGER has developed and managed professional art studio and exhibition programs since the late 90’s, including exhibitions at PS1/MoMA, the International Center for Photography and Art Center Sarasota. Kessinger facilitated the emerging artist residency and solo exhibition program, known as the Collaborative Art Projects or CAPs, at the Bronx Museum of the Arts from 2000-2006. She is currently the manger, a studio artist and head curator at ‘CHA-Matawan’, featuring 11 artist studios and 1,000 square foot gallery space with the ChaShaMa Space to Present and Space to Create Programs in Matawan, New Jersey.
JONATHAN LEVINE began as an independent curator in 1994, organizing exhibitions at punk and alternative rock venues in the NY/NJ area such as: CBGB, Webster Hall, Max Fish, and Maxwell’s. Having grown up in Trenton, NJ during the 1980s, LeVine recognized the appeal of countercultural aesthetics including punk flyers, comics, graffiti and tattoos. By promoting these visual art forms through group shows in venues that were home to their musical counterparts, LeVine gave a home to this nascent art movement, early on. After opening and operating galleries in New Hope, Philadelphia and Manhattan (Chelsea), LeVine relocated the renamed Jonathan LeVine Projects to Jersey City’s Mana Contemporary in 2017. A leading arts organization dedicated to celebrating the creative process, the gallery aims to create engaging programs and interesting partnerships beyond its gallery space, such as public murals and pop-up exhibitions. With an eye towards honoring and connecting with the history and context of Post War art, Jonathan LeVine Projects explores the terrain of the high/low and everything in between.
SANDY MARTINY has over 15 years of experience as an arts professional with artistic and administrative oversight in municipal cultural arts programming, art gallery management, museum education, and community arts initiatives. Currently she is the Director of Cultural Affairs for the Village of South Orange and the Director of the Pierro Gallery of South Orange. She oversees up to seven exhibitions a year for the Pierro Gallery and develops public art projects in South Orange. Martiny holds a Master of Fine Art from the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts, Bard College, New York and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Grand Valley State University, Michigan. She lives in Jersey City Heights with Al and Roger, husband and cat, respectively.
RAYMOND E. MINGST is an artist, writer and curator. He is the co-founder of Curious Matter, an exhibition and project space in Jersey City, NJ. In addition to exhibitions, Curious Matter publishes catalogues, artist monographs and broadsides. Mingst has exhibited, curated, and collaborated with numerous galleries and institutions including Apex Art, NYC; The Center for Book Arts, NYC; Leslie Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art, NYC; Takashimaya Gallery, NY; Museum of Matches, Brooklyn; Parallel Art Space, Brooklyn; Proteus Gowanus, Brooklyn; Newport Art Museum, Newport, RI; Jersey City Museum, NJ; Noyes Museum at Stockton University, NJ; Dineen Hull Gallery at Hudson County Community College, NJ; Jersey City Public Library, NJ, and Art House Gallery, NJ among others. Ephemerality, history, documentation, presentation, the stewardship of objects and art as well as ideas of preciousness and veneration are recurring themes in his work.
TEFANIA PANEPINTO
is an artist, art advisor and gallery owner who lives and works in Jersey City with her art in Hoboken, NJ. In 2011 she founded Panepinto Galleries, a collective space to host art exhibitions, film screenings, artist salons and photo shoots. She has played a vital role in building a vibrant community of artists located in the heart of the Powerhouse Arts District in Jersey City. Stefania expanded her vision to establish Panepinto Fine Arts to create “Art as Inspiration” for luxury hotels, residential and office buildings, hospitals, as well as homes. She creates and sources unique custom designed contemporary artwork to enhance the vision and experience of each project. Stefania earned her MFA at the New York Academy of Art and works in oil paint, mixed media, and sculpture.
