I’m an artist who has lived his whole life in the New York/New Jersey area. As such, I have been deeply affected by the vertical buildings and the compositional grid of the city. While I paint and draw both abstractly, and realistically, I’m most fully engaged in an ongoing abstract series entitled, “Structural Landscape.”
My aesthetic is one of problem-solving the picture plane to its logical and organic solution. I believe in a less subjective light that “good painting” exists in the formal language of painting. Shapes, edges, color, composition, brush strokes, etc. I intend to show how abstraction and realism aren’t mutually exclusive but are actually dependent upon each to create something more significant.
