Adam Weiss is a commercial editor with over 15 years of experience in advertising. He has edited television commercials for premium brands such as Mercedes, Samsung, ESPN, and Spotify to name a few. He has always had a love and interest in popular culture, specifically the movies and television shows of his childhood in the 80s and 90s. During the start of the pandemic, he and his wife purchased a LEGO set to help pass the stressful and uncertain hours of those early days of quarantine. That LEGO set sparked a passion for toy photography that he never knew existed. Since then, he has grown as a photographer and has been able to quickly cultivate a modest and expanding following on social media. His LEGO recreation of Weezer’s music video “Island in the Sun” was shared on the band’s official Instagram page.

My photographs are a reflection of the slick visual aesthetic I have developed as a professional editor, my love and appreciation for film, television, and pop culture, and my personal sense of humor. When coming up with concepts for toy photography I like to take iconic characters from popular culture and explore what their ordinary day-to-day lives are like. When Mario and Luigi are not rescuing Princess Peach from the clutches of Bowser what do they look like carrying out their everyday tasks as plumbers? What does Batman watch on tv when he sits on his couch after a night of fighting crime? I try and find humor in exploring the human elements of these superhuman characters and visualize what their lives look like when they are doing simple ordinary things.
