The Exquisite Corpse: Paul Robeson Galleries 30th Anniversary Exhibition
Opening Reception: Thursday, November 19th from 5-7pm @ Paul Robeson Galleries, Newark, NJ
Exhibition on Display thru April 8, 2010
To mark and celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Paul Robeson Galleries, artists of the region were invited to play the surrealist drawing game – the Exquisite Corpse. This was a favorite surrealist game from the early 1900s, and continues to be played by artists around the world. Each collaborator adds to a drawing without knowing what has already been contributed. After all participants have finished the drawing is unfolded and revealed. 30 exquisite corpses on view by 92 artists!

3/19/10 - 4/16/10 Reception: Sunday, March 21 1-4 PM, Arts Guild of Rahway
An exhibit dedicated to paper where selected artists use paper in interesting and innovative ways, artists for whom paper is more than a surface on which their art is carried. The artists in this show include paper-cutters, collagists, sculptors and book-makers. Their art is original, exciting, and contemporary, but it also shows a special affinity to, and relationship with, paper that warms my heart.
