Gailene St Amand

My passion for art began with visits to museums and galleries. I attended Southern University of Louisiana, in Fine Arts, Delgado Community College taking Commercial Art courses and Art History courses at Xavier University of Louisiana. Painting was my major, at which time I researched techniques of the Old Masters, and their lives.

Attending a mixed media workshop at an artist colony, introduced me to collage. My work evolved from working in oils and acrylics paints on canvas, to working with papers, both handmade and found assemblage, doll making and textiles.
