Frank W. Augustine has been a practicing photographer since the late 1970’s when he studied at the School of Visual Arts. In addition to shooting film he created mixed media postcards from sourced materials. He has taken photographs extensively through Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the US having exchanged film for digital photography. Currently he is working on an ongoing series of handmade collages and digital prints.
He was featured with a two-page spread in “One Day USA: Self Portrait of American Cities” 1986 Publisher Harry N. Abrams. His work has been in solo shows in West New York at the Public Library and Memorial High School.
A founding exhibiting member of Hobart Gallery in Hoboken, NJ., his work has been featured in group shows include The Drawing Rooms, Jersey City, NJ., CWOW (traveling exhibition), Newark, NJ., The Brennan Gallery, Jersey City, NJ., Gallery Aferro, Newark, NJ., Symposia, Hoboken NJ. and Galaxy Towers Gallery, Guttenberg, NJ.
His work has been published in catalogues for “Somewhere Over the Interconnected Rainbow” The Drawing Rooms, Jersey City, NJ. “Come As You Are” Gallery Aferro, Newark, NJ. “Super 8” Gallery Aferro, Newark, NJ. “Metro 29” CWOW, Newark, NJ.
