Title of project: Cosmic Unity

Project Summary:

This project called “Cosmic Unity” it was inspired by my readings on mandalas, natures, dreams, the cosmos and the “Mandala Project”. It consists on an installation of paintings, photographs, and visual animations that will represent a world we all dream. These images will reflect the beauty of our nature, our world, our feelings, our dreams, and we humans as the creators and destructors of life.
In addition, a large-scale “mandala” painting will be made. This will be one of the most important parts of the project, because it will represent unity, wholeness among our community. In other words, this cosmic painting will remind each of us our relationship with the infinite and the beauty of our world. Finally, the “mandala” painting will represent we live in a world that can extend both beyond and within our bodies and minds.

I want this project to be a tool to improve awareness in our community and in our lives, through different types of art put together we can realize the diversity of our planet and its habitants and manifest it into the physical world as a whole.

How will you use the grant towards your project (about $500-$1000?):

I will use the grant for different supplies that are needed. Also, since there is going to be a large-scale painting I will need a space where I can work on it until it is done. In addition, the grant might also help to get promotional materials and equipment that I will need for digital animations.

How will this project manifest itself in the 2013 Studio Tour (encouraged) and at the next Art Eat Up?

This project will manifest itself in the 2013 Studio Tour as a tool to promote awareness of the beauty around us by showing the large-scale ‘”mandala” painting and the rest of paintings, photographs, and animations that will be made to complement the “Cosmic Unity” project. This project will make people to come together to celebrate the beauty of art and unify the community.
